¡Eso! brings you some of the most explosive Hispanic fight action and powerful fight finishes that you may have otherwise missed during the previous week and over the weekend.
Twenty-two year-old Gabriela Fundora (15-0, 7 KO’s) became the youngest undisputed women’s flyweight (112 pounds) world champion in history last night, Saturday, Nov. 2, by scoring a seventh round (1:40) knockout of Gabriela Celeste Alaniz (15-2, 6 KO’s) at The Theater at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas.
The Mexican American Fundora, who hails from Palm Beach, Fla., scored two knockdowns on Alaniz from Argentina in the seventh round of their fight, with a straight left hand each time.
Alaniz made it to her feet the second time, but the referee stopped the fight, believing that Alaniz could no longer fight.
The victory allowed Fundora to retain her IBF flyweight title, and add the WBA, WBC and WBO championships to her collection.
