Former BMF champion Jorge Masvidal (35-17) announced that he is aiming to return to the UFC’s octagon in April.
The 40-year-old Masvidal, who had announced his retirement following his loss to Gilbert Burns at UFC 287 on April 8, 2023, made the announcement during an interview on a podcast hosted by disgraced former fighter Jake Shields on Monday.
If Masvidal were, in fact, to come out of retirement, he would be looking to end a four-fight losing streak in the UFC.
Following his retirement from the UFC and MMA, Masvidal put on the boxing gloves for a 10-round boxing bout against former UFC rival Nate Diaz on July 6.
Diaz emerged victorious in the boxing fight via split decision.
Masvidal and Diaz originally met in the main event of UFC 244 where Masvidal got the victory after the third round when the doctor overseeing the fight stopped it due to a cut sustained by Diaz.
In October, however, UFC CEO Dana White said it was unlikely that Masvidal would come out of retirement.
