Mexican social media star and MMA fighter Luis “Pride” Escudero (1-0) defeated fellow influencer Naim Darrechi (0-1) by way of unanimous decision in a four-round exhibition boxing bout at an Elite Xtreme Fighting (EXF) event in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico on Saturday, Aug. 31.
The fight, contested with 14-ounce gloves at Gimnasio Oscar Tigre Garcia, came as highly-anticipated in the world of social media after a long-standing, online feud between the two personalities.
The 27-year-old Escudero, who has over 7 million followers across all of his social media pages, including over 5.7 million TikTok fans, has aggregated his following on social media by offering instructional videos covering martial arts self-defense techniques.
Darrechi, 22, hails from Barcelona, Spain and has amassed his online following, which includes nearly 3.8 million YouTube subscribers, through his comical videos that include lip-syncing and dancing.
Escudero holds an overall record of 3-3 as a professional in MMA. He recently made his debut for Combate Global, losing to Carlos Cordoba in the second round (2:37) of battle after Cordoba rained down on Escudero with a storm of elbow strikes, prompting the referee to stop the bout.
