Vaquer’s path to WWE started far from the United States, in her hometown of San Fernando, Chile. At just 19 years old, she moved to Mexico to pursue her wrestling dreams. There, she spent 11 years training and honing her skills, which she credits for much of her success today.
In a recent interview with journalist Luis Soto Riquelme, Vaquer shared the profound impact Mexico had on her career. “I left Chile at 19 to learn wrestling, and Mexico became my second home,” she said. “Mexico gave me everything—the knowledge, the experience, and the fans’ support that helped me grow. I will always be Chilean, but Mexico helped shape me into the wrestler I am today.”
WWE Journey: A Dream Come True
Stephanie’s dream of making it to WWE became a reality when she signed with the company in July 2024, after impressive stints in Mexico and Japan. Her time in AEW, where she faced off against Mercedes Moné, also helped solidify her place in the industry.
“Signing with WWE was a huge step,” Vaquer explained. “Moving to the U.S. was a whole new experience—learning a new language, a new wrestling style, and adjusting to a new culture. Shawn Michaels made me feel welcome and helped me understand what I wanted from this opportunity.”
Vaquer is now poised for a major title match in NXT, as many consider the women’s division there to be the best in WWE. She believes this is just the beginning of her journey in the company.
The Dream of WWE in Chile
Looking ahead, Vaquer expressed her desire to see WWE bring a live event to Chile. “I’ve never wrestled professionally in Chile, so it would be incredible if my first match was with WWE there,” she shared. “It’s a dream I hope to fulfill.”
Although there has been some speculation about WWE holding an event in Chile, Vaquer clarified that she has no official knowledge of any scheduled shows. “But they’ll definitely come to Chile soon, and I’d love to be part of it. If not next year, then maybe in the future. It’s something I’m working towards.”
